The world is small. The lady at the bank who helped with the transfer to pay for my lens was very nice. A few days later, I dropped in and gave her a Canada pin. My trademark gift for people who are nice. She was going around the bank showing people.

Today I went into the office, and Huang Min tells me I did a good thing. I gave a pin to the Niece of the president of the university!

Went to class wearing my prescription sun glasses. All the students we impressed. Many started to take pictures of me. Call me “cool” and “Bond ... James Bond” or “double oh seven” I then realized, I have seldom seen people wear sun glasses here.

I got even. That night I showed up with my camera. A phone camera is nice. A real camera is better. Got lots of pictures of the Overseas students, and the Navigation students the next morning. (Ok, I know this says Tuesday blog and I am writing about Wednesday morning .. Details)

Wednesday October 17
Reggie just opened the blog, and said there are so many words. I looked at the information for this letter is Word Perfect. I got on googletalk and told her there are 4515 words and 19249 Characters ... she was shocked .. I am not sure if she was shocked over how many words, or the fact I knew how many words there are. I am here laughing ... I will show her when I get home. The original is in Word Perfect, and I can see how many words and characters there are. LOL>

I tried to change some class dynamics today. Usually the girls all sit in the front, and the boys in the back. (SURPRISE ... same as in both Canada and USA). I told all the girls to sit in the back, and moved the boys to the front. Told them I was tired of looking at so many beautiful girls all the time, and wanted to look at ugly boys for a change. They all laughed. Some of the boys even did some work!

Thursday, October 18
Just had a “gas mask” delivered to me. It is for fire escape. An interesting idea. It is good for at least 60 minutes of protection from “poison gas and smoke protecting, fire proof, hot-radiation protecting, good sealing property. For all kinds of adult faces” . Goes on to say it protects against CO and HCN. Put it next to the first aid kit I brought from Humber, and Fire Extinguisher that was here.

Did laundry today, dusted, dishes, cleaning. Water man came to collect. Two bottles of water for my dispenser is 24 ¥

Tomorrow Don and I are going to Gu Lang Yu, the island off of Xiamen. Taxi picks us up at 6:30. We will go DVD shopping and take a bus home. Linda and some of her friends invited me climb Tianzhu mountain on Saturday. We meet at the gate at 8 am. Will post some pictures after the next two days
